« on: September 02, 2010, 04:06:20 PM »
Might be of use to put the details of a colour used on a cars wheels in one place.
Example:-
Astra 2003 star silver 3  code 157

I've a very lazy tendancy to use Volkswagen's Reflex Silver on alloys - seems to blend nicely with the majority of wheels out there.

Good idea.  I guess we don't all use the same colours for wheels as you can get away with a bit more leeway on a wheel.  These are some of the options I use.

Ford/Aston Martin - Moondust Silver 6
Audi - Brilliant Silver L8Z8
BMW - Reflex Silver A44 or Bright Silver A54
Honda - Silver Effect X0261
Honda Civic Type R - Whistler Silver NH711M
Mini - Haag Silver 309

Halfrauds Mercedes brilliant silver in aerosol, I know plain lazy, but it used to work on plenty of wheels + Laquer of course.

Well spotted.  I haven't updated my notes on that one.  I used to be on Dupont solvent until I switched over to water based.  As I've been on jobs I've been updating my notes to the new colours.  It must be a few years since I repaired a Honda wheel and I've just not changed my notes on that one.

I've got a quote on a Honda bumper tomorrow.  If I get the job I'll have a look at the wheels while I'm there and update my notes.
