About to set up - any tips or advice for a newbie??
« on: August 16, 2011, 02:56:49 PM »
Hi everyone

Within the next month or so I'm hoping to get my smart repair business up and running (with winter coming too, I know!). Basically I worked in an office for 6 years after finishing uni, hated it the whole time, and left at the end of June to do something completely different.

I had a week's training, then been practicing on my own since then whilst buying my equipment. Hopefully going to get started up and start doing real customers in September.

I'm excited and petrified in equal measure - don't really feel amazingly confident in my abilities, so gonna try and take it as easy as possible with the work i do initially.

Any advice of tips from some of the more experienced members before I jump in with both feet would be greatly appreciated.....????!!!

Hi sleebag83,

Im a pdr guy and the only piece of advise from me and you probably now this one
only take on what is well within your capabilities easy jobs first to gain your confidence
or join up with an older guy who`s already established and ready for winding down and
looking to get out if thats not an option then stick with the first option ..

good luck

Andy
