BMW drivers
« on: October 23, 2010, 09:26:13 PM »
I was coming home tonight from an estimate.  Had a couple of cars in front of me and a d***head in a BMW behind me, ducking and diving all the time, trying to get past me (as if he was going to get anywhere!).  We came to a roundabout and I indicated to go right.  This prat behind came flying up my left hand side, and I actually thought he was going drive all the way round my outside and turn right like me.  Instead, he went straight on at the roundabout but instead of driving round it he straightened it out and the prat hit my front bumper when he cut in front of me.

I stopped and checked the van out, he just carried on going.  I've got a slight scuff on the N/S front corner that will come out with a bit of SEM texture.  It's not really a big deal at all to my van.  Bit annoying though as it's a lease van and it's going back in 6 weeks so I've got to make sure it's right.

I just hope he caused more damage to his O/S rear 1/4 panel and back bumper. I'm hoping I get the call to go out and quote him  >:(

I feel your pain.  We've a Jazz Festival on here at the moment, and the city is packed to the gills.  I'd to gig 3 nights in a row this weekend with my own band, and parked up my work car outside one of the venues.  Came out to it last night, and the back bumper had a lovely collection of scrapes and gouges - no details left, why would they bother when I've 'PaintDoctor' on the side of it?  This is the 3rd or 4th time this year it's happened.

I use tales like this to show empathy with my customers when booking estimates in.  Don't know whether they believe me or not but I usually say something like "I know how you feel, somebody hit my van/car last week".

Hopefully you can sort yours out.  Just means a day when you don't earn any money

There's the old joke about a guy leaving a note on the windscreen of a car he's just hit saying "The guy across the road saw me hit your car and he thinks I'm leaving my name and address - but I'm not"

I had a guy come to my workshop and he was an old guy.

He was very unsteady on his feet and decided to lean up against my car. I said to him, come inside its warmer. Just to get him off it. He said "no I am ok here thanks"

I then asked him nicely to get himself off my new car. He did.

I felt sorry for him and he is really old and I have done work for him before. When he went I looked at my car and he must have had some bloody keys in his back pocket as he left me with my very first dent in the rear quarter of my Scirocco  >:(

I was not happy but I removed it and now looks like new again. Next time someone leans up against it, I will remove them old or young!

Some people have NO respect.
Your only as good as your last repair.
