I have created this topic to clarify the 'moderator' situation of this forum, how moderators are chosen etc.
With the exception of Andy who is my eyes and ears to the forum for which I am legally responsible the present moderators are temporary.
FORUM MODERATORS WILL BE ELECTED BY THE FORUM MEMBERS:This is how the election system will work:
Every 12 months we will hold moderator elections or in the case where we loose a moderator for any reason forum notifications will be sent to all members inviting them to apply .
Candidate will have their member names added to the MODERATOR ELECTION TOPIC . A simple voting poll will be created. Members can then vote as they whish for one person only. The system will restrict members to one vote per poll, so there can be no duplicate voting.
After 30 days the votes of the polls will be counted. This will give us the initial leaders. To these voting scores points will be added for such as:
Number of forum posts made (sign of regular activity)
Quality of forum posts.
Any forum disciplinary notes taken into account.
The final results will then be posted at a pre notified date.
There will be a further 7 days where members can challenge the results.
Any elected moderator will be subject to a 3 month probationary period.I would like to hold an open discussion in the chat rooms about this issue sometime over this weekend. I will endeavour to be available in the ‘General ‘ room of the chat system to take questions and responses.
