Hi everyone,

I am currently a painter/panelbeater of 22yrs and have also been doing pdr for about 3yrs,i am looking into doing mobile paint repairs and i am looking for some suggestions where to buy equipment and materials etc.

i would like to know what you guys think is a good all round paint system(WB),I use lesonal at work and we have a lechler smart system(which to be honest i'm not that keen on) which i sometimes use.

Any tips and advice would be helpful

there does seem to be a policy of members using quite a few other smart repair forums
and with this one being free totally free there seems to be people out there who dont
like this forum for that issue so they tend to discredit the forum im sorry no one has given
you a reply but it has been suggested there are also new members who are picking the
brains of qualified smart repairers and then they think it`s easy to go out and start repairing
customers cars and you know it`s not that easy...

Hi Andy,

I understand what you are saying,but i'm just after opinions on products and just a bit of help really.As you know i've been painting cars for a few years now and we/i carry out smart repairs in the bodyshop where i work so i am not new to smart repairs by any means.If the people that come on this forum do not want to share there knowledge thats fine by me,i understand its there living and that they are maybe worried about competition etc etc.I will finish by saying that in my 22yrs in the motor trade i have never come across someone who is not willing to share information to help someone else until now !

Anyway rant over,hope things are going well for you Andy with the pdr

With 22 years of panel beating and spraying you must surely know where to source the products and equipment you need.
What about the company that supplies your place of work?

Maybe i should have made myself a little clearer,i do know where to source products and equipment i just wanted some suggestions so i can make comparisons with prices and quality.Having used many paint schemes over the years but not all of them i was hoping for some feedback on paint,for instance i have heard the standox system is very good but would like to know from people that use it all the time,not someone telling me its good because they want me to buy it.

As for the suppliers we use at work i have spoken to them and have arranged a meeting to see what they have to offer in the way of smart repair.

The first question that I would ask you is what systems have you used. It would be far easier to adapt what you know than try to learn a new system
