Hi, I'm new to the forum so I hope I can explain my bit of a dilemma.
I operate what one might call a "cottage industry" where I make seat covers and decals for mid 80s Honda bikes. Up until recently I was using an aerosol product from Glass Aid in Dorset to apply the logos to the seat covers. The seat covers are made from vinyl. The Glass Aid product was what they called IMAGE Plastic Paint, I've added a picture below to show what I mean. Unfortunately by the time my present stock of aerosols was needing replenishing, I discovered that Glass Aid were no longer with us and so I needed to source a replacement product.
Fortunately I discovered Neil from Glass Aid had gone on to SmartExpress and after a phone call an order was placed with them and I receieved the aerosols the other day. I was advised that the SEM product would do the job the same as the Glass Aid aerosol. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. It doesn't work no where near as well as the Glass Aid paint I was using. The paint can be scrapped off with a finger nail with relatively light pressure. The Glass Aid plastic paint is very, very durable and would dry back that quickly that I could sew the cover together in 10-15 minutes. I simply cannot use the SEM product that was sold to me. I couldn't sleep at night wondering when a customer would phone to say the logos were coming off.
I've just emailed Neil at SmartExpress and wait his reply fingers crossed.
Would any of you experienced chaps know of a product and where, that is the same as the Image Plastic Paint I could obtain?
Many thanks, Chris.
